New To Year 2

Transition from Year 1 to Year 2 (Jaguars & Panthers)

To some people it may seem quite strange that consideration is given to pupils transitioning from Year 1 to Year 2. After all, the transition in question involves children moving to a new year-group, not a new school. However; learning in Year 2 is distinctly different from the learning undertaken in Year 1, therefore at Lee Brigg Infant & Nursery School we adopt the same process for transitions between Year 1 and Year 2 as we do to those who are new to our school or are moving on from our school.

Throughout the year we aim to inspire and interest Year 2 pupils with lots of exciting and engaging learning activities. Each child is treated as an individual and they are encouraged to take greater control of their learning. We have high expectations of the children and encourage them to become confident independent learners. Our aim is to promote and develop hardworking children who are resilient and have the skills they need to make a smooth transition to Junior School.

Please see our Key Stage One (KS1) Page or Panther Class Page to find out more!

September 2020

Year 2 children will be welcomed into school on Tuesday 8th September 2020.

Pupils will be welcomed into school between 8.50 a.m. and 9.00 a.m. using the Key Stage 1 doors at the rear of the building.
This door will be closed promptly at 9.00 a.m.

We would request that you please do not congregate on the playground before 8.50 a.m., and observe social distancing guidance at all times in order to avoid congestion and mitigate mixing of year group 'bubbles.'

Children should be collected at 3.15 p.m. using the Key Stage 1 doors at the rear of the building.
Please wait outside the Key Stage 1 doors, adhering to social distancing measures when collecting your child(ren).

Siblings at Lee Brigg
Siblings will be offered the option to be welcomed into school together and share an identical pick up and drop off times. Please advise a member of school staff should you wish to discuss the options available to your family individually. We will do all we can to assist in order to minimise the number of people gathering for any length of time on site.
