Virtual Sports Day 2020

Unfortunately, due to Government restrictions in place, we are unable to hold our annual school sports day. This event is ordinarily extremely well attended by our families and staff join in your disappointment at not being able to host our usual event this year.

As you know, at Lee Brigg we endeavour to overcome challenges and as such we will be looking to host a virtual sports day. We are inviting both those attending school and those who remain at home to complete a number of planned activities at home and for parents and carers to help by sending in scores. There are 5 activities, along with a score sheet which we welcome you to participate in.

As always, participation is optional; however, for those who do wish to participate, please submit completed score sheets (and any photos you'd like to share!) to admin@leebrigg.wakefield.sch.uk no later than 26th June 2020.

A certificate of participation will be issued to all once scores are collated.

National School Sport Week at Home 2020 - 20th June - 26th June

The annual National School Sport Week campaign takes place in the last week of June every year to celebrate the important role of Physical Education and school sport in enhancing young people's wellbeing. It will take place between Saturday 20th June and Friday 26th June 2020.

This year, the Youth Sport Trust has teamed up with Sky Sports to run a national campaign which will aim to unite the country - families, schools, sport and businesses - in a celebration of the power of sport to bring people together, even during isolation.

The UK-wide campaign will challenge people to take on their families, friends and neighbours in virtual sporting challenges - helping them to connect in an unprecedented period of school closures and social distancing.

It will be supercharged by Sky Sports who will be helping to inspire families across the country to take part. Read the launch announcement.
